Shelter and Safe Stay

When a stray dog or cat arrives at Mona and Friends, the first thing we want them to feel is safe. Our shelter provides clean, warm and secure housing for every rescued animal in our care, for as long as it takes to find them the right family. Each animal is given their own comfortable space, regular meals, fresh water and daily human interaction to help them feel calm, loved and ready to trust again.

We believe that a good shelter is more than just a roof over an animal’s head. It is a place where healing begins, where fear is replaced with trust and where every animal is treated as an individual with their own personality, needs and story. Our dedicated volunteers spend time each day socializing with the animals in our care, playing with them, grooming them and giving them the kind of gentle attention that prepares them for life in a loving permanent home.
